Terms and Conditions Last updated: July 2026 Version: 1.1 1. Overview Sobuu is developed and operated by Ayoze Pérez Rodríguez, based in Germany. Email: info@getsobuu.com Website: https://getsobuu.com Sobuu is available on Android and iOS and is currently free to use. The main purpose of Sobuu is book tracking and social reading. 2. Acceptance of Terms By using Sobuu, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. 3. User Accounts Account creation is optional, but social features such as comments, reviews, ratings, and book creation are available only to registered users. Login is available via email and password. Registered users can update their first and last name, and delete their account. Non-registered users store data locally on their device. Users must be at least 16 years old to create an account. 4. User-Generated Content Registered users can post comments, reviews, ratings, and create books with required data and optional book covers. When a user deletes their account, ratings, reviews, and comments remain in the app under the username “[Deleted account]”. Users can report comments that contain offensive language, personal details, controversial content, racism, spam, illegal products, or violence. After three reports, the comment is removed. Content is visible only to registered users. 5. App Usage Rules Users may not: • Post offensive, illegal, or harmful content • Share personal details of others • Promote racism, violence, or illegal products Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of the account. 6. Intellectual Property Sobuu and its code, branding, logo, and content are owned by Ayoze Pérez Rodríguez, even though the app is open source. All rights of third-party content (books, images, covers) belong to their respective owners. We grant users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use Sobuu for personal, non-commercial purposes only, in accordance with these Terms and app functionality. Users may use content only in ways allowed by the app. 7. Liability and Disclaimers Sobuu is provided “as-is” and “as-available”. We make no warranties regarding the operation, availability, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the app. We are not responsible for data loss, interruptions, or damages resulting from the use of Sobuu. Third-party content, such as ISBNdb data, is provided for informational purposes, and we are not responsible for its accuracy. 8. Payments and Monetization Sobuu is currently free. Future paid features or in-app purchases may be implemented. Refunds are not available for any future paid features unless explicitly stated. 9. Termination We may suspend or terminate user accounts for violation of these Terms, including posting prohibited content or misbehaving. Upon termination, user data is deleted from the platform, and content that violates the rules is removed. Other content remains under “[Deleted account]”. 10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany and the European Union. Any disputes will first be attempted to resolve informally. If not resolved, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in Germany. 11. Modifications We may modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified via email and app notifications. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. 12. Optional Analytics, Crash Reporting, and Polls Sobuu offers optional analytics, crash and error reporting, and occasional in-app polls to help us improve the app. Each of these is turned off by default and only collects data after you explicitly enable it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time in the app settings. The data collected is anonymous, is never linked to your identity, and is processed on services we operate ourselves (self-hosted). No third-party analytics providers are used.
